Nobody Knows **********
Yuya Yagira was named Best Actor at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival for his moving portrayal of the older brother trying desperately to support his three younger siblings. This movie is based on a true story that took place in Tokyo. This movie is good and will torture you just as much as it tortured the characteres with wait and hope. I recommend it.

Saving Face *******

My Summer of Love, from Pawel Pawlikowski, the award-winning director of "Last Resort", is a tale of obsession and deception, and the struggle for love and faith of the different characters. The good old story of a rich kid toying with a disadvantaged kid. Worth a look. The performance by the girls is good.

Emily Mortimer, Gerard Butler, Sharon Small Directed by Shona Aeurbach
DEAR FRANKIE is a heartwarming and often humorous tale of nine year-old Frankie and his mom, Lizzie, who have been on the move ever since he can remember. Seen it. Pretty 'easy' movie. Gerry is worth it. ah aha ha!

Hukkle (100%)
The daily life of a small Hungarian village is the setting for the experimental film HUKKLE (onomatopoeic for "hiccup" in Hungarian). A series of dialogue-less vignettes, featuring the various townspeople and their animals, explore the quotidian existence in the Hungarian countryside. Sounds good, now let's see if it actually makes it here, in our neck of the wood [literally!]

Taking to some difficult material with a sublimely delicate touch, Italian director Gianni Amelio offers a personal cinematic treatise on mental illness, physical disability, and child abandonment. maybe.

About a dickhead who has a film project that makes him a superstar overnight but who remains such a dickwad that he loses all. maybe I'll see it. Seems pretty depressing.
